the lint roller you can feel good about using!

we’ve launched our kickstarter campaign!

This is your opportunity to have an influence and help reduce plastic waste.

we say NO to single-use plastics!

cogomelo designs and manufactures mycelium-based products that are biodegradable and can be composted at the end of their life cycle with no cost or environmental damage.

our aim is to reduce the use of non-renewable resources and aim to create a circular economy!

plastic is now everywhere.

it can take hundreds of years to degrade, and has a negative impact on environmental, animal, and human health.

we’re replacing plastic with mycelium

so that when you’re finished with it, you can compost it in your backyard!

mycelium products quickly degrade in 3 months when composted.
mycelium products are entirely derived from renewable resources.
mycelium can be grown in a lab, eliminating the environmental impact of resource extraction
100% of mycelium products can be composted, which reduces waste and enriches soil.
mycelium products are inert and not harmful to other living organisms!

our products

are made of natural materials that will quickly decompose in a backyard compost. the decomposition of mycelium-based products not only reduces waste, but it also contributes to soil health!

all packaging and shipping is plastic free. so overall, the carbon footprint to manufacture our products is significantly less than those made of petroleum products.

the cogo life cycle

manufactured in a lab in Toronto, Canada.

mycelium is grown with a blend of natural material sourced from agricultural waste, including sawdust and hemp fiber.

performs competitively when compared to conventional materials.

toss it in your backyard compost or green bin to generate rich soil.

what the heck is a mycelium-based composite?

mycelium is the non flowering part of a mushroom consisting of thin branched tubes that grow to form the complex networks known as mycelium.

our products are made from mycelium-based composites, where we use a substrate – in our case, agricultural waste – that is partially replaced as the fungal biomass grows and consumes it. the resulting composite formed of substrate and mycelium is strongly cemented together, and the final product is shaped to produce the lint roller!
